I was away on business, travelling overseas in a distant
time zone, when I received an unexpected message from
Isabella. A dinner was arranged for me to attend the
following Saturday evening in Melbourne, could I make
it?
I debated what to tell her. I knew I would be returning
home on the day, and would most likely be exhausted
and jet lagged. Not the best circumstances to meet
new friends.
I had been single for a number of years, and I while
I had dated several kind and special ladies over the
years, none of them turned out to be compatible for
the long term.
My good friends Sally and Darren had recently become
engaged. They were brought together through Dinner
at Eight, and theirs is a special love story in its
own right. Some weeks earlier, I had taken their advise
and signed up.
I decided nothing ventured ..., and told Isabella
I would be there.
Walking down the South Melbourne sidewalk toward the
restaurant, I was wondering if I could stay awake
for the entire evening. I stopped in my tracks as
I caught sight of a stunningly beautiful woman approaching
from the opposite direction. I pretended to look in
a shop window as I kept an eye on her, just hoping
to get a closer look at such an attractive woman.
When she walked into the same restaurant I was heading
for, I followed her, arriving just in time to hear
her ask for the table under the secret name I had
been told to use.
From that moment, my heart raced. I was full of energy,
and knew I was exactly where I was supposed to be.
That was 1 year and seven months ago today. The beautiful
mystery woman is now my loving partner. Surprisingly
enough, she said yes when I asked her to marry me
a few weeks ago, and we are looking forward to a long
and happy future together.
Thank you Isabella, for making our dreams
come true!

I've been very happy as a member of Dinner at Eight
for the last few years as it provides a great service
for single people of varying ages who find it hard
to meet people their own age. I've become a little
more of an extrovert over the years, thanks for a
great service to us oldies.

My experience with Dinner at Eight has been very positive.
Have met some very nice people, had some entertaining
and enjoyable evenings and have found that the vast
majority of people approach the dinners in a very
positive frame of mind. An excellent way to socialise
and meet people!

I would have no hesitation in recommending Dinner
at Eight to single friends.
From the very beginning I found joining a dating agency
quite daunting and it was a first time for me but
Isabella put me completely at ease.
Very professional and yet at the same time I felt
like I was talking to a good friend who had my interests
at heart. I was soon attending my first meal. Isabella
had matched me perfectly !! Although I didn't meet
my dream guy on that date I met some interesting like
minded friends. Great conversation and great location
- great evening.
I met my current partner on the second Dinner date.
Well done Isabella !!..what a result…
Thank you soooo much... SS (2009)
A
huge thank you to Dinner at Eight
Through Dinner at Eight, I have been fortunate
and blessed enough to have found a wonderful bond
of friendship, sharing, trust, affection and love
with an exceptionally special woman.
The journey to her was an enjoyable, entertaining
and sometimes personally challenging series of invaluable
opportunities on many levels.
I’ve met so many great people, shared good
conversations and good food.
Meeting a number of different women gave me the
unique opportunity to truly appreciate how special
everyone is.
One of the important lessons I had to learn was
be flexible enough to make myself more available
for dinners so that I had the better chance to meet
the type of lady that I hoped to find.
Through the Dinner at Eight experience I have learnt
more about myself, how I truly felt, and was able
to feel more comfortable in opening up to others.
Without this, through the opportunities that Dinner
at Eight provided, I would not have met or sufficiently
appreciated the special lady that I have become
so wonderfully close to. For all this, I am eternally
grateful.
