Dinner at Eight is committed to protecting your privacy. We abide by the principles outlined in the Commonwealth Privacy Act of 1988 concerning the protection of your personal information. For clients to use our services we have to collect a certain amount of personal information about them. This information is only used to manage our business relationship with the client and to meet the provisions of the various laws and regulations that apply to our business.

Dinner at Eight does not exchange, trade, rent or sell any member’s personal information with or to any third parties. We only provide a member’s contact phone number to another member with the express permission of that member. We do not supply a member’s details to the restaurants we use.

While Dinner at Eight makes all reasonable efforts to ensure that each member’s personal information is accurate, complete and up-to-date this information is only as accurate as the information a member provides to us. We impress upon each member the importance of keeping us informed of any changes to their personal information so that our records are up-to-date.

As part of their conditions of employment all Dinner at Eight staff must sign confidentiality agreements that prevent them from divulging member’s personal information to any third parties or contacting member’s outside the day-to-day running of the business.

Introduction Agents Act (1997)

Dinner at Eight complies with the Introduction Agents Act of 1997 (75/1997) which is overseen by Consumer Affairs Victoria (http://www.consumer.vic.gov.au). Since July 1998 all Dinner Clubs operating in Victoria have been covered by this Act. It was enacted to regulate the operation of any business that matches people for personal relationships or social activities. It is designed to prevent unscrupulous and deceptive business practices.
